Southeastern Employment and Training Association (SETA)
Cathy Hulsey and John Jones attended the Southeastern Employment and Training Association (SETA) Conference at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on March 9 – 12, 2008. The Keynote Speaker was the Honorable Jeb Bush, former Governor of Florida, who during his tenure as Governor of Florida advocated new Workforce Development solutions such as Florida Ready to Work, a Career Readiness Certificate initiative and strived to replace outmoded policies that no longer worked effectively. Because change is inevitable, workforce professionals must lead the way in providing innovative solutions to enhance our workforce system. Presenters came from the local, regional and national levels and there were many workshops that addressed the needs of our diverse membership. There were valuable networking opportunities which are one of the best things about the SETA conference. Exhibitors were there to provide materials, products and services that can help us do our work more efficiently and effectively. |
